There’s been plenty of work happening at the scout hut this summer. Here’s a taste of some of it.Â
We’ve been counting every night away for every member of The Fifth since they joined, Our beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers have completed a magnificent 2,869 Nights Away between them. This Summer Camp, we’ve been able to give out a big batch of badges this summer to scouts and young leaders who’ve earned them.

Congratulations to all of them!
We are very lucky at The Fifth to have a bunch of teenagers who give up their time to help with the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
Before we set off to camp, we got them together and we worked through the first module of their training.
Let’s keep the last post of the year simple.
Thank you to everybody who ran everyday adventure for our young people.
The leaders who turn out each week, who plan and who train to earn qualifications.
The people in the background who build, paint, drill, saw and help us grow.
The paperworkers who let the leaders do the fun stuff while the subs are collected, gift aid completed, accounts audited, finances recorded, waiting lists managed etc.
Thanks to the parents who trust us with their kids and who budget and save to send their kids away with us.
Finally a thank you to our beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers who make The Fifth one of the best groups in the district.
The 8 who braved the rain made it back by 9.30. Nobody got lost and the incidents were all completed painlessly. Congratulations to Maddie, imy, jack and Sammy who were the winning team.
Here they are before they set off
What they be like in 2 hrs?
