We are very lucky at The Fifth to have a bunch of teenagers who give up their time to help with the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

Before we set off to camp, we got them together and we worked through the first module of their training.

What did they have to do? We worked through the purpose and method of scouting, we discussed safeguarding (child protection) and they even had to complete a risk assessment. Two hours of this and they concentrated, took it seriously and worked really hard.

Here they are with their YL badges and their orange cards

The orange card is all about safeguarding and lists Do’s & Don’ts of young leadership. They should carry it with them on scout events.

Thanks to all of them. We are very grateful for their time and hard work.
