The scouts brought their props and they’re making their videos.
and we even managed to show them their videos before they went home
The Fifth have started buying hammocks and tarps for the Scouts Summer Camp.
We hit a major stumbling block when we found out the price of tarpaulins (the sheet that goes over the top like a tent) but after alot of hunting and emailing, we found a supplier who has provided us with all the tarps that we need at a fraction of the cost. They’re ‘seconds’ so they are slightly discoloured but at a discount of more than 60%, I think that we can put up with that! (we’re saving over £1,000)
We can’t wait to try them out, the explorers are hoping to give them a trial run this Friday and then the scouts will be let loose with them in the Summer.
The pictures below are from our suppliers at DD Hammocks.
So we set each patrol the challenge of storyboarding a video tonight. Next week they will film them . Each patrol had a leader with them to offer guidance.
What a fab weekend we’ve had!!
Thank you to the cubs who let us join them. Thanks to Andy, Adam and John for their help & guidance. The rest of the cub team for the laughs, support, food and help (and what happens on cub camp – stays at cub camp lol) And also thanks to Don and Gaynor for their help and support with the scouts!! Simon & Elaine
the British waterways man turned up at 9.30 but some divvie boaters (not us)Â and poor water levels meant that we took a while to get through the locks. Lots of cruising to do today.
The Scouts are Go-Karting
Looong day from Leighton buzzard up to the bottom of the Stoke Bruerne flight.
Loads of locks tomorrow and the blisworth tunnel. Twice.
