Help with Costs
If you talk to one of the leaders before the end of march, we can apply to a number of sources for help to get your child on camp. Please Please do this. We can normally reduce the cost quite significantly for families who would not be able to send their child on camp otherwise. The Canadian Scouts call this “no child left behind” – I like that.

Who are the leaders?
There will be a big leadership team from both packs as well as a team of additional helpers and assistants. Some of you will never have camped with us before so we should explain:
- most adults are 1st aid trained
- all adults are CRBd and we have safeguarding procedures in place
- the event leader is trained to run Residential Experiences and there is ongoing assessment of the skills required
- we can cater for allergies and other dietary requirements
- we run safe, happy and exciting camps all year-round.
*We hope that all of the cubs will come on camp so we’re ready to reassure you and answer all your questions. It might seem like a long time away from home for some of the younger ones but the time flies once they’re here.
Here are some answers to questions that you might have (the ones we get asked every year)
The adults sleep in different tents to the cubs.
The cubs have to wash every day (including brushing their teeth!)
No cub ever goes hungry – the catering team are ready to feed anybody but please let us know about any dietary requirements.
We can make sure your child takes his or her medication but you must talk to a leader in advance so we know what we’re giving them!
The tents are waterproof.
We don’t cancel activities if it’s raining – so your child will need a decent set of waterproofs (trousers and jacket).
We can’t guarantee that a child will be with all his or her friends but we do our best.
